Washington Federal Acquires 23 Branches in Arizona & Nevada.
We're preparing to welcome 23 branches from Bank of America in the states of Arizona and Nevada. Pending regulatory approval, the branches will be converted to Washington Federal systems and products on Friday, May 2, 2014. Please visit our dedicated transition website for more information about the conversion.
Information about the Heartbleed Bug.
“Heartbleed” is a flaw in OpenSSL encryption software that could allow others to eavesdrop and potentially obtain sensitive data passed via the internet.
Washington Federal does not use OpenSSL encryption products for our customers, our internal systems or our online banking and website platforms. Accordingly, it is safe to continue to use our website and online portal to conduct your banking. We do not believe we have any direct exposure at this time.
However, it's always a "best practice" to update passwords regularly, and now is a very good time to review and update all of the passwords you use online.
